PARS CRUDE OIL

Pars crude oil

Pars crude oil is a medium sour crude produced in Iran, primarily from the West Karoun oil fields. It has an API gravity of 22.4° and a sulfur content of 4.25%.
Due to its medium density and higher sulfur content, Pars crude yields a variety of petroleum products upon refining. Key derivatives include:
1. Gasoline: Used as fuel for vehicles.
2. Diesel (Gasoil): Fuel for transportation and industrial machinery.
3. Fuel Oil (Mazut): Utilized in power generation and marine fuels.
4. Jet Fuel (Kerosene): Aviation fuel for aircraft.
5. Naphtha: Feedstock for petrochemical industries to produce plastics and other chemicals.
6. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG): Comprising propane and butane, used for heating, cooking, and as automotive fuel.
7. Bitumen (Asphalt): Employed in road construction and roofing materials.
Pars crude oil is exported to various international markets, with its Official Selling Price (OSP) set by the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) as a differential against benchmark prices like Platts Dubai and Platts Oman.
