IRANIAN HEAVY CRUDE OIL

Iranian Heavy crude oil

Iranian Heavy crude oil is one of Iran’s main export crude grades. It is a medium to heavy crude with a relatively high sulfur content, making it more suitable for refineries equipped with complex processing units, such as coking and hydrocracking units.
Derivatives of Iranian Heavy Crude Oil
After refining, Iranian Heavy crude yields various petroleum products, including:
1. Gasoline – Though not as high-yielding as lighter crudes, Iranian Heavy still contributes to gasoline production.
2. Diesel – A significant portion of Iranian Heavy crude is refined into diesel, which is used for transportation and industrial purposes.
3. Fuel Oil – Due to its high sulfur content, Iranian Heavy crude is a major source of fuel oil, widely used in power plants and marine fuels.
4. Jet Fuel – Some fractions of this crude can be processed into jet fuel for aviation purposes.
5. Bitumen (Asphalt) – The heavier fractions of Iranian Heavy crude are used to produce bitumen, essential for road construction and waterproofing.
6. Petrochemical Feedstock – Some of its byproducts, such as naphtha, are used in petrochemical industries to produce plastics, synthetic fibers, and chemicals.
